This week in the lesson I uploaded the mood board and pitch. Outside of class I worked on my initial ideas and names for the psychological thriller. I would like to complete my storyboard and script.
I would like to be more creative by using softwares like Prezi and slideshare!

Storyboard
Create a Copy | View Larger
This storyboard represents our plot for our film. The woman is looking at a poster on a shop in the first box. The second box, she has a flashback of a time with her and her boyfriend. The third box she sees him and is terrified. In the 4th box she tries to escape him as she remembers all the the terrible things he has done to her. The 5th box, she finally reaches her home and tries to enter without being seen. The 6th box, she is relieved to escape her ex, however while she washes her face she sees him behind her in the mirror.
Audience
Our audience will be 15 + above. This is because the film is a psychological thriller. However we expect people in their late teens and older people to come and see the film. Even though psychological thriller are associated with male centered audiences i think the majority of our audience will be female because we are following the antagonist' s story who is also female. Although we think the majority will be female i think there will still be a large proportion of males that would watch the film.

Title Ideas
It took really long to find a title that suited our film and made it more attractive to the audience. We wanted something that reflected our storyline. So we did some research and found titles that already existed. Most titles that we found had a little " Spook ". For example " Black Swan", " The Silence of The Lambs", "The Cell", "The Ring" and "The Machinist".
We wanted to use the title "Stalker" but then saw that a TV Drama had already took the name. So we decided we wanted a title which is short, and came up with the word "Shadow". We thought this title gave an element of mystery. We picked the word " Shadow" because we thought it linked to our plot. Our antagonist is being stalked by her ex husband, it's as if they are inseparable like a shadow to a body.
Mood Board
This mood board reflects our storyline, of how a relationship between a woman and a man was beautiful and breath-taking and how their relationship is now a nightmare and life-taking.
Initial ideas
We decided that we wanted to do a psychological thriller. Our initial idea was that we wanted a girl to be stalked however we didn't have much content in our storyline. Soon we developed a storyline of the antagonist being the girl (Sara) who was a victim of domestic violence. She is no longer with her ex husband who abused her but she is still scarred. She tries to carry on with life by going out on a normal day to the shops but she starts hallucinating that she's being followed. Before her hallucinations start she has flashbacks of happy memories of her and and her. However as the story progresses the flashbacks turn into horrible memories of her abuse. She runs home thinking her mind is just playing tricks on her. Soon as she closes the door we see her ex husband saying " Hi Sara".

Time Plan For Trailer
1st week- Decide what genre you’re doing and do research
and planning in detail (look on the internet watch thriller films and horror
film trailers that received awards, take not in shots used and sound used.
2nd week -
Plan the storyline and what parts are we going to show in the trailer
and do a shot list. Discuss with partner about this. Also decide what locations
are we going to use and what time of day are we going to film.
3rd week: test out filming cameras see which one
is better see different ways of filming (one camera or two cameras) choose
filming technique which is best for us. Decide actors and their roles and start
to film something. Keep filming until you feel that it’s the best you can do.
4th week: (Everything must’ve been filmed by now)
– Try different editing softwares and see which one is best to use. Edit the
trailer and review it. Do different version of edits and see which one is best
to use to succeed aim (if horror; to scare them- if thriller; to intrigue them)

Opening Film Analysis
From the opening scenes of the movie I learnt that they all have different styles of showing viewers what the movie might be about. For example sin city had a completely different style of filming , it had a black and white and red effect. 21 Jump Street had an opening scene of following a character to another setting. I learnt that it doesn't matter how you show the audience what the film is about just as long it grabs their attention. Sin City grabbed the audience because it has a mysterious opening the audience wants know more and why that woman got shot and who she is. 21 Jump Street grabbed the audience attention because it was ironic that there was Eminem music playing and guy that's trying to look like him, this is funny to the audience and makes them want to laugh and watch the film more.

Sin City Opening Scene
From the opening scene you can tell that the film is set in an older time period from the black and white mode with highlighted red effect, and that much of the setting looks unrealistic on purpose to make the film seem like a comic. We see a gun on the guy so that we associate him as a hitman. This opening scene doesn't give much detail about what the film is about from just the filming. However there is dialogue and narration that hint what the movie might be about and what genre it fits into.
The Other Guys Opening Scene
From the opening scene we can tell that this is an action movie as everything is fast paced and there's a car chase going on. However we can tell that it's also a comedy because the car chase isn't serious for the cops.
Inception Opening Scene
We can already tell the film s an action movie because someone is already stealing something precious as well as there's a hostage and there are guns involved. Moreover the way the scenery starts collapsing suggest that what we saw before wasn't real and that this is more than an action movie.
21 Jump Street
Preliminary Evaluation
After my first filming experience I realised that filming isn't as easy as it looks and that it's really difficult not just for me but for my actors too. This was because we had to run over different shots again as I was not used to using and adjusting a tripod.
However I think what went well is the way I filmed it, for example I leant filming a shots separately is easier for later editing, because it appears as natural editing when you're watching all the shots together. When I was filming I think I used the 180 degree rule well as it was clear where actors were. Also I think I used shot reverse shot really well with the dialogue because when looking over It looked like it was an actual conversation. Match on action was used well in the film although I think it could be improved.
I was well prepared for the task , as made a time plan before hand and a script for my actors to use. However I ended up not following my script and doing something completely different, which I think worked out well.
What didn't work well when I was filming is how I was using the tripod. The tripod at times was loose and at times too stiff. At ne point the camera was slanting so I had to adjust the tripod all over again, I then eventually gave up and filmed without a tripod
I would improve the way I filmed by using a different camera and gaining experience on my tripod as well as being prepared for the unexpected.
